If Joss had turned out a script that was exactly what the studio was looking for and it turned out to be a hit, sure, he would have gotten a lot more mainstream clout. But if he and the studio were trying to do two different things, I think it's best that he'll be focusing on smaller projects that he can do his way instead of fighting the endless fight with people who just don't get what he's trying to do. We still have Joss's <a href="http://www.gonersmovie.com/" rel="nofollow">Goners</a> movie to look forward to, in addition to the <a href="http://search.ebay.com/astonishing-x-men" rel="nofollow">Astonishing X-Men</a> comics he's been writing and the new series of <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Runaways_%28comics%29" rel="nofollow">Runaways</a> (about six kids who discover their parents are super villains) that he's going to be writing soon. Not to mention the ever-persistent question of when Universal will decide that a Serenity sequel is a good idea. Also, small correction: Whedonesque isn't Joss's personal blog. It's a community-generated list of links to Whedonverse-related news articles. Joss occasionally comes on to comment about various threads (<a href="http://whedonesque.com/tag/joss+post" rel="nofollow">Joss's posts</a>), but very rarely posts full articles.
